Which InterVac Dust Bag Fits Your Model?

Ordering the wrong bag is the most common mistake our customers make, and it is entirely our packaging’s fault for looking similar. This page exists so you can check once and never guess again. Find your model below and note the InterVac dust bag code somewhere on the unit itself.

Then order from the code, not from memory.

InterVac Y11 double-opening dust bag pack, part of the InterVac dust bag fitment range

The quick reference table

  • Y08-5 fits the GarageVac GH and GF, the H-120-E, the RM, RMH and RMF, the F and the LH.
  • Y09-5 fits the RMD only.
  • Y10-5 fits the CS-6, CS-8 and CS8HW. Single opening.
  • Y11-5 fits the CS-9, CS-10, CSRM and CSRM-RC. Double opening.
  • Y20-3 fits the InterVac Pro, IVD660H, IVD660F, CondoVac and Phoenix.

The 5-packs contain five bags and one motor filter. The Y20-3 contains three bags plus a motor filter and an exhaust filter.

The two that get confused

Y10 and Y11 are the pair to be careful with. Side by side on a bench they look nearly identical. The difference is that the Y10 has a single opening and the Y11 has two.

Fit a single-opening bag to a double-opening unit and dust bypasses the seal entirely. It heads for the motor filter, clogs it within weeks, and eventually reaches the impeller. If you own more than one coach or you service several, label the bags as they arrive.

How to tell which you have

Open the unit and look at the bag mount. Two collars means Y11. One collar means Y10. That check takes five seconds and settles it permanently. The CS8 versus CSRM comparison explains why the two units differ in the first place.

If your unit carries a different brand name

Several of our systems have been sold under other names over the years, and some are still in service. The hardware is ours, so our bags fit.

  • CondoVac, IVD660 and Phoenix are the same machine as the InterVac Pro. They take the Y20-3.
  • SeaVac was the RM. It takes the Y08-5.
  • EquineVac was the GarageVac. It also takes the Y08-5.
  • Dometic CV1003 is a CS-6 or CS-8 under Dometic’s name, so it takes the Y10-5.
  • Dometic CV1004 is a CS-9, CS-10 or CSRM equivalent, so it takes the Y11-5.

If you bought your coach with a vacuum already fitted and the badge says Dometic, those last two lines are the ones you want.

Motor filters and exhaust filters

Bags are only part of the picture. Motor filters are model-specific too.

  • Y21 covers the RM, F, H, GV and GH families.
  • Y22 covers every RoadVac CS model.
  • Y25 covers the CondoVac, IVD660 and InterVac Pro.

Exhaust filters are the Y41 for the H, F, RM, GV and GH families, and the Y50 for the IVD660 and Pro. The CS line has no exhaust filter by design and offers an overboard exhaust option instead.

How often to change what

Change the bag every three to four months in a house, or every six to eight weeks in a garage, workshop, pet household or coach. Change the motor filter after every fifth bag, which is why each 5-pack ships with one. Change the exhaust filter annually.

Our guide to how often to change a central vacuum bag explains why suction drops long before a bag looks full.

Two things worth knowing

First, using non-genuine bags or filters voids the vacuum warranty on our systems. Our units carry two years of cover, so the saving on a generic pack is smaller than it appears.

Second, if you would rather not track any of this, the bag subscription ships the right pack on a schedule with free continental US shipping.

Fitment questions

Where is the model number?

On a label inside or behind the unit, usually near the motor housing or on the back plate. If it has faded, send us a photo of what remains and a picture of the unit itself.

My vacuum came with the coach and has no badge. Now what?

Photograph the bag mount. One collar means a Y10-type bag, two collars mean a Y11-type. That single observation identifies the right pack even when every label is gone.

Can I use a Y11 in a unit that takes a Y10?

No. The opening arrangement differs, and a mismatch lets dust bypass the seal and reach the motor filter. It is the most common ordering error we see.

How many bags should I keep on hand?

One spare pack, stored beside the unit rather than in a cupboard elsewhere. The bag change you postpone is nearly always the one where the spare was somewhere inconvenient.

Do you still supply bags for very old units?

Yes. Every system we have built is still supported, including models with no product page and units sold under earlier names.

A word on storing spares

Keep the spare pack beside the unit rather than in a cupboard elsewhere in the house or coach. It sounds trivial, and it is the difference between a two-minute bag change and a job you postpone.

If you own more than one system, label each pack with the model it belongs to as soon as it arrives. Two different packs on the same shelf is how the wrong bag ends up in the wrong machine.

Still not sure?

Find the model number on the label inside or behind the unit and send it to us through the contact page. We have records going back through every system we have built, including the models that no longer have a product page, so we can identify almost anything from a plate photo.

The full range is on the replacement dust bags page.
