Buying Direct from InterVac: Warranty, Parts and Support

You can buy our vacuums from marketplaces and from dealers, and plenty of people do. We are not going to pretend that is a mistake. But there are four practical differences when buying direct from InterVac, and they mostly show up after the sale rather than during it.

Here they are, stated plainly.

Warranty is handled by us

Our systems carry a two-year warranty on the unit and 30 days on accessories. When you buy direct, that claim comes to us and we handle it.

When you buy through a reseller, the warranty on that unit is the reseller’s responsibility. Terms sometimes differ from ours, and those differences are theirs rather than an inconsistency on our side. It is worth reading the terms wherever you buy, and registering the unit either way at our warranty registration page.

One condition worth knowing

Using non-genuine bags or filters voids the vacuum warranty on our systems. It is a real term, not fine print we hope you miss, and it is the reason we are careful about fitment guidance.

We stock parts for models we no longer list

This is the difference that matters most in year five. We stock motors, circuit boards, switches, cords, hoses, brackets, doors and housing parts for every system we have ever built.

That includes models with no product page at all: the RMD, the CSRM-RC, the GF-120 and GF-220, the GH-220, the H-220, the F and LH, the CS-6, CS8HW, CS-9 and CS-10, the IVD660F and the 660-FC and 660-FR. It also includes systems sold under earlier names. CondoVac, IVD660 and Phoenix are the same machine as the InterVac Pro. SeaVac was the RM. EquineVac was the GarageVac. If you own one, you are our customer and we can supply it.

Send us a photo of the model plate through the contact page and we will identify it.

We know which bag fits

Bag fitment is the most common thing people get wrong, and a marketplace listing cannot ask you what model you own. Our fitment guide covers the whole range, and the Y10 and Y11 in particular, which look almost identical and are not interchangeable.

If you would rather not track it, the bag subscription ships the correct pack on a schedule with free continental US shipping.

Shipping and returns, stated up front

  • Free standard shipping on orders over $199 within the continental US.
  • Handling in one to two business days, delivery typically two to seven days.
  • Returns accepted within 14 days on unopened items; return shipping is the customer’s.

No restocking fee. We removed that clause because it was the wrong way to treat someone who changed their mind.

Where the products come from

We think you should know how a thing is made before you buy it. Our vacuums were designed by our founder, an engineer from Germany. The housings are injection-molded and the units assembled at our own plant in Palm City, Florida. Motors, switches, circuit boards and wiring are imported, as they are for essentially every vacuum sold in this country.

Our systems are UL listed, and certification is worth checking on anything you mount permanently and leave plugged in. The UL mark is the one to look for.

Price is the same, or close to it

We hold our published prices at the same level our dealers work to, so buying direct is not about undercutting anyone. The GarageVac GH120 is $279 and the remote model is $361.08, on our site and on the channels where we list.

So the reason to buy direct is not price. It is that the warranty, the parts and the fitment advice all come from the people who built the unit.

Questions about buying and support

Do you price match dealers?

We hold our published prices at the level our dealers work to, so there is rarely a gap to match. If you find a genuine discrepancy on a current model, tell us and we will look at it.

How fast do orders ship?

Handling is one to two business days, with delivery typically two to seven days after that. Orders over $199 ship free within the continental US.

Can I return a vacuum if it is the wrong model?

Unopened items can be returned within 14 days, with return shipping on the customer. Better still, ask us first: describing your space takes five minutes and avoids the return entirely.

Do you sell to dealers and builders?

Yes. We supply RV manufacturers, boat builders and retailers, and we private-label for some of them. If you are specifying for production rather than buying one unit, tell us the volume and the application.

What if my unit is out of warranty?

You can still buy every part for it. That is the point of stocking parts for systems we no longer list, and it is the difference between a repairable product and a disposable one.

How to reach us

The fastest route to an answer is a photo of the model plate and a sentence about the space you are cleaning. From those two things we can confirm the right unit, the right bag and whether a VacPort will work on your system.

We would rather spend five minutes getting it right than process a return, and that is the whole argument for buying from the people who built the thing.

Where to start

Browse the full range on our shop page, or start with the guides: choosing a garage vacuum, sizing a central vacuum, or the RV vacuum comparison. If you would rather just describe your space to someone, that works too.
