Who Builds the Central Vacuum in Your RV?

Most people who own an RV central vacuum own ours, and almost none of them know it.

InterVac Design Corp builds the RV central vacuum systems that coach builders install at the factory. In other words, we are not a consumer brand that happens to offer an RV product. We are the supplier the manufacturers buy from, and we have been for years.

The RV Industry Association counted 342,220 RVs shipped in North America in 2025. Roughly one in ten leaves the factory carrying a built-in system, so the segment runs to about 34,200 coaches a year. InterVac built 32,000 of those systems. That is more than nine out of every ten.

RV central vacuum market share, by the numbers

Our nearest competitor, H-P Products, builds the central vacuums that carry the licensed Dirt Devil name. They ship between 900 and 1,200 units a year to the same manufacturers we serve. So for every system they supply, we supply about thirty.

RV brands that install an InterVac central vacuum

Coach builders who install our systems at the factory include Grand Design, Forest River, Newmar, Tiffin, Keystone, Jayco, Cherokee, No Boundaries, Surveyor, Newell and Millennium, among others.

But you do not have to take our word for it. Those manufacturers publish our manuals in their own service libraries:

• Forest River hosts our CS-6, CS-8 and CS-RM operating manual in its interior equipment component manuals.
• Tiffin Motorhomes lists InterVac in its component manual library, with model-year sections for Allegro Open Road, Zephyr and Phaeton.
• Prime Time RV publishes our built-in vacuum operation manual.

Is an RV central vacuum a luxury feature?

No, and that idea is about a decade out of date.

Newell and Millennium coaches carry our systems, and those sell for well over a million dollars. But Surveyor and No Boundaries travel trailers carry them too. Same supplier, both ends of the market. In fact our entry model, the CS8, retails at $177.

Why you may never have heard of us

Because we sell to the factory rather than to you. The system goes into the wall during the build, so unless you go looking for the manual you may never see our name on anything.

That produces a strange loop. Manufacturers tell us dealers never ask for central vacuum systems, so they assume the feature must be a luxury. Dealers tell us consumers never ask. And consumers tell us, at every show we attend, that they had no idea an RV central vacuum existed. As a result, everybody waits for somebody else to bring it up.

How to tell whether your RV central vacuum is an InterVac

If your coach came with a built-in vacuum, better than nine in ten odds say it is ours. So check the inlet plate or the unit door for an InterVac or RoadVac mark, then check your owner packet for a component manual. Molded and assembled in Florida

We injection mold our own parts, then assemble and inspect every system before it ships, at our facility in Florida. Most of the plastic we mold comes from United States suppliers. Every system carries HEPA-type filtration into a sealed dust bag, so the debris that comes out of your coach stays out of the air rather than blowing back into it.
